Our Story

Our story started half a world away, long before our first shop opened or the first cupcake was ever baked. Our story started in a small kitchen in Manila, Philippines with an imported American oven. With the knowledge fueled by a life long dream of one day owning her own bakery, my mom's aunt taught her everything from the fundamentals of baking to learning how to make the perfect brioche. It was in this kitchen where my mom first fell in love with baking.

In 2009, at the height of the recession, my dad lost the IT job he had held for 11 years. After diligently searching for work and coming up empty, he decided to cash out his savings and finally open the coffee shop he had always dreamed of.

In 2012, after countless hours spent brewing, baking, and testing recipes, Red Velvet Cafe - Pickerington officially opened its doors. With the tremendous support of the Pickerington community and our loyal customers from all over Ohio, our family's struggle has become a success story.

Three years later, after graduating from The Ohio State University and moving to Chicago for a brief stint in finance, I'm excited to be back home and bringing what my parents started in the suburbs to the up-and-coming city that has always held my heart. We are so incredibly proud to be serving in the heart of Downtown Columbus.

While we've grown from our humble beginnings, we remain committed to bringing you the absolute best experience through our menu, but more importantly through our service. Thank you so much for your support and we look forward to having you here!
